As we enter the last few weeks of the year, remember that these are the last few weeks of $100 AIW memberships. Have you renewed? This is a great time to do so. Do you know a young college student or aspiring writer? A one-year membership would be a perfect gift during this holiday season. Beginning January 1, the annual dues goes up to $125 – but as we mentioned earlier this year, that’s well below our previous $145!
Happy Hours are back! On Monday, November 9, two dozen writers gathered at Bravo Bravo in Northwest DC to share stories about writing and getting to know one another or renew old friendships. We’ll have another no-host happy hour in December. Beginning in January, we’ll either rotate the monthly happy hour between DC, Virginia, and Maryland bars or simply have monthly happy hours in each of those locations.
Do you know young government workers or Capitol Hill staffers? We’re planning on a new one-day seminar in January specifically for those groups and how they can use their writing skills if they want to pursue a different career. We’ll have details on the event to you shortly.
