Come and spend St.Patrick’s Day with cast members (and perhaps become one yourself). Anyone with an intrest in or appreciation for James Joyce is welcome, especially anyone interested in taking part in the 2010 Bloomsday reading of Highlights From Ulysses on Wednesday, June 16 (organized by the Harvard Club of Washington, DC and American Independent Writers).
At the Coaching Session we will have some tips and pointers on reading technique and a demonstration reading of the Proteus chapter by Robert Aubry Davis of public radio and TV fame.
The cast party will provide an opportunity to discuss (amicably, of course) the parceling out of parts, and to discern the subtle and not so subtle differences between Harp, Guinness and Jamieson’s – Irish Public House etiquette rules will govern the occasion.
The National Press Club restaurateurs will offer a special Irish buffet on St. Paddy’s Day.
All Joyceophiles welcome, especially veteran readers from the last two years’ Bloomsday readings and prospective readers. You are welcome to come to: the Coaching Session; the Cast Party; or Both. Reservations: Space for the Coaching Session is limited, so please reserve at the Harvard Club website (www.harvard-dc.org) or by e-mailing American Independent Writers at rsvp@aiwriters.org to avoid disappointment.
