AIW Pubspeak: Five Nuggets of Life Advice from Peter Drucker

Event will take place in DC in early evening on Wednesday, July 21.

Presented by Bruce Rosenstein, author of Living in More Than One World: How Peter Drucker’s Wisdom Can Inspire and Transform Your Life (Berrett-Koehler, August, 2009).

In his presentation, Bruce Rosenstein, who interviewed and wrote extensively about Peter Drucker (“the father of modern management,” who died in 2005 at 95) for USA TODAY and other publications before writing his book, will share Drucker’s secrets for leading a profoundly fulfilling life.

Bruce will focus on what you can learn from Drucker’s work and personal life example on:

  • Living in more than one world; with diverse people, activities and pursuits
  • Developing your core competencies; your areas of personal excellence
  • Creating your future through your actions today
  • Exercising your generosity through work with nonprofits, social entrepreneurship, mentoring and volunteering
  • Teaching and Learning

Bruce Rosenstein bio

Bruce Rosenstein is the author of Living in More Than One World: How Peter Drucker’s Wisdom Can Inspire and Transform Your Life (Berrett-Koehler, August 2009).

He has studied Drucker’s work for more than twenty years. He worked for USA TODAY for 21 years, until late 2008. He was the embedded librarian in the News section of the newspaper — the first embedded librarian at the newspaper — and for the final 12 years, also wrote about business and management books for the Money section.

Besides USA TODAY, he has written for such publications as Leader to Leader, Leadership Excellence, Information Outlook, ONLINE and Library Journal. He wrote extensively about Drucker for more than a decade, for USA TODAY and elsewhere, before the publication of his book.

Bruce is a writer for the Northern Virginia Community College Office of Institutional Research. He has also taught as a lecturer at The Catholic University of America’s School of Library and Information Science in Washington, D.C., since 1996.

He has a BA from The American University, and a MSLS from The Catholic University of America’s School of Library and Information Science.
